I don't know if you're serious or taking the piss from what I've wrote in the "private messages" thread, but anyway, assuming you're serious:
I haven't really been much into the scene lately (actually never, lol), but I'm pretty sure the best club for electronic music is still Vespas. They usually bring in every 2 months or so a big dj name like Zabiela, Ananda, Tiefschwarz, Steve Lawler, etc; usual nights are electronic music too. Other clubs are more commercial, a typical stop for uni students is the club called (you'll lol at the name) Copacabana  which sometimes is almost only rock music. I'm not really thinking of any other decent clubs right now, maybe Cafe Do Teatro plays electronic stuff sometimes but it's only frequented by wannabe-high-society-and-stuck-up-about-it fags. Watch out that in some clubs and nights the bouncers are total wankers, and won't let you go in unless you're with girls and properly dressed, whatever the fuck their fashion standards are.
Bars... a good pre-club place to hang out is the Number 2 bar where tons of people go to drink poncha, the fav alcoholic drink of the island. There's a Number 2 in Funchal and another Number 2 in Câmara de Lobos. This summer the Funchal place seemed to me like it was even getting over-crowded, insane amount of people for a small place really. Another cool bar is Amazónia in the middle of Funchal, but it's more for student party weeks, at the Summer it might be slower.
Speaking of parties, Summer is the time of the big outdoor electronic events, it's quite likely you can catch one of those. Although these events are starting to get more and more commercial, about 2 years ago they used to be awesome.
If you like beaches, try coming to my side of the island at the Calheta Beach, although it can't possibly compare to the stuff there in Brazil. It's the only yellow sand beach in the island, because it's artificial.
