Pretty good Zone day. Best sets go to:
- last hour Presta (very surprised at how much better he was than last year!)
- last hour of Exacta
- Jon Jon upstairs
- Glen Morrisson stole the fucking show! Best set of the day IMO.
More to come later when I am a bit more articulate, lol.

I got there around 1130am after the horrible drive into TO.
I was there for about 7 hours with my friend Phil from NJ who had never been before. And even his comment was "Why would you go to any other club in this city when you have a club like this" hahaha
Needless to say we both had a great time.
Jon Jon and Nathan's sets were by far our faves of the day. What a killer tune for your last song of the set Jon and Nathan, you just kept building up that set. You really do rock Toronto Fuckin City
all I have to say is.. Who the hell needs international DJ's when we have the best damn locals there are out there!!!

A-FUCKING-MEN!
Zone was absolutely crazzyy. Got there at 6AM and it was already packed. By 9AM it was so fucking hot so I ended up spending alot of time upstairs.
Sets of the day: jon jon, nathan barato (not sure why carlio wasn't around), peter presta & deko-ze
Great meeting some new TAs. Wishing I hadn't left "early" now: 9:30pm.
I still can't believe CZ actually decorated the place.. how fucked is that? They also appear to have added some more lights again. One that comes to mind is the black light directly above the comfort zone logo on metal lounge, which makes it show up much better.
jon jon was pretty good.
Peter Presta was good
Greg G won best set!

Popped it at 8am for about 30 minutes to see Baby Joel rip it up downstairs. Place was rammed! Heat was just too much for me to take though. Being relatively sober sure didn't help. Decided would be best to go home and get some sleep as I had to be back at 4:30 to play upstairs.
When i went back in the afternoon the party was still going strong! There was even quite a few people upstairs which was a nice. Got super drunk while i was playing. had a great time and stuck around for some more drinks when i was done.
seemed like a pretty good crowd too... though i didn't wander through any dark corners downstairs

Interesting day/night at zone.....
Got there around 1 pm while Carlo Lio was on and I swear to f'ing god it was fate again for me to walk into him dropping Trust No.1!!! I wanted to go fkn nuts on the dance floor but you couldn't move!!! It was so packed at this point that I actually had to stand in one spot. Kinda pissed me off!
Wasn't interested in Presta's set at all. Spent most of that time by the pool and upstairs. Got a chance to hear Jon for a little and I like what I heard.
Missed Barato's set since we decided to go get something to eat and watch a movie in an actual movie cinema, straight out of zone .. lol lol...it was very interesting, although National Treasure sucked ass!
Came back while Tim Patrick was on...didn't hear much of his set since we were upstairs again drinking. While at the bar...who was that guy playing gay vocal house and brought boys town upstrairs??? lol
Glen Morrison started off nicely with the first two tracks but he lost me after 5...didn't listen to the rest of his set, although his last two tracks were amazing!
Greg Gow is who I was waiting for...Again, my favourite set of the day! I'm glad I got to hear him last b/c I wasn't crazy about anyone's set yesterday and I needed Greg to wake me up!
Nice meeting some new ppl as well
Overall I expected a lot more out of yesterday and I've had a lot more fun other days...meh..too many ppl.

Didn't get to the Zone until 12:15ish... what was up with the coat check line? I said screw it to coat check because jon jon was about to go on.
Got upstairs (and away from the sauna that is downstairs) and jon jon rocked the casbah. Tunes were so good that I tried the statue routine but didn't work and end up working up a bit of sweat.
Went back downstairs to catch bit of Dekoze but wasn't feeling what he was playing, plus it was just hot sardine sauna in there so went back upstairs. I think it was Jay Force playing electro house. Eh. Tunes were ok, but not very imaginative.
The combination of indigestion from previous night, humidity and weed smoke made my stomach get sick and I went home around 4:30 ish. (didn't end up getting home until 8 though)

Got to zone quite early - around 6am and the place was packed. There was a small line up outside but since we had tickets we walked right in - different then past years but a pleasent surprise. By 8am the place was full and felt like a sauna - I swear in 5 years of going to zone on NYD I've never seen that many people in there before. I checked out most of the areas and the sketch factor was quite low - actually hung out in the back - ganster row I think - it wasn't too bad - people were really nice all over the club. Music was kick-ass as usual. We definitly have some of the best DJ's in the world right in our own backyard and I'm gald we have such an amazing place to hear them play the dirty, dirt beats we've come to love and expect at the zone. Oh, and a quick note about the coat check - it's probably the best place to catch some of the strangest shit you've ever seen - too funny to see some of the characters in line, cutting the line and saying "fuck this line".
Happy New Year TOTA!!!
M.

the weather wreaked havoc with the inbound flights of Presta/Exacta and thus the downstairs schedule went through a bit of a melange. I think Carlo ended up covering for Presta's orig start time (11:30am) and Nathan did the Roaches spot on his own.
ps. Cuzo is the best person in the world to dj to! lol

why is vocal house music always refered to as the gay house or gay vocal house?
classic vocal house and some of the newer vocal stuff i've heard is not anywhere NEAR the circuit sound.
