spectral mixing

Hey guys. I hear that Sidechain filters on noise gates for spectral mixing are good for trimming the high and low ends. Any idea on how to go about this? any help is appreciated.i use reason btw.

Use the envelope follower in the Scream 4 device to control a filter.
The manual should show you how to use the envelope follower.
