Can someone give me some examples of psy techno?

I don't know any specific tracks and could't even begin to describe the genre. What elements are specific to it?

A 303 perhaps?

BPM range?

Kick drum style, bassline style?

Cheers

No such thing. Unless you mean psy trance.

Psy-tekk as about as close as you're going to get, although it's mostly been in vogue since the early 00s, mostly replaced by dark psy.

The minimal techno (thats influenced by psy music like above) is growing. I don't see what dark psy has to do with techno tbh.

Names are a good thing to start with.
The Delta has allready been mentioned so i continue with PPS Project and some of X-Dream's or Nuclear Ramjet's stuff.

Tech Psy, wich i like to call it, is categorized by shorter repeatitive elements/rythms/beats similar to that of techno. Sometimes it can be just the same loop all over like X-Dream's Irritant or The Delta - Def By Delta (Part 1).

Distorted kicks and other rythmic elements are commonly used by X-Dream and The Delta, something wich is not common in other psy genres.

The tracks are often stripped down, or have focus on kicks, bassline and disharmonic percussion or rythmic elements. Most times there are no real bassline in a traditional sense, just disharmonic bass providing support, like PPS Project's tracks Icon and Fiberoptica.

It's not unlikely that the general feeling of the sound is towards 'industrial', with lots of pounding 'metal sounds', especially PPS Project stuff. Check out their AC vs DC album and you'll understand.

BPM range can be just about anything. Usually above 140bpm and up to 160 bpm. But bpm range is not a crucial thing for this genre.

Something I recommended in the recent psy thread:
The Delta
Authentik
X-Dream
Metalogic
Midi Miliz
Cosma
Spirallianz
Mittelstandskinder Ohne Strom
Fuzzion

Not everything is psytekk, but the overall vibe is pretty dark and techno-ish

It doesn't much, to be honest, but it seems the dark stuff really exploded once the tekk stuff died off. Coincidence?

Within the psytrance scene you will hear of psychedelic techno (more of a term from 2001 or so) but we mainly refer to it as techtrance. Of course this gets a bit confusing as I understand there is a mainstream trance version of the same thing... but "techtrance" is what people use when they're speaking of The Delta, Authentik, Triac, etc. Where do people hear a term like "psytekk" anyhow? Is this another one of Ishkur's baseless inventions?

For an immediate overview of the style I suggest checking out my mix Replicant Redux. Here you will discover several of the most important techtrance artists: Opsis, Tetraktys, Midi Miliz/Spirallianz, and Sensient. I also have several techtrance oriented releases up for free download on my web site; check out Subnet012, Digital Diamonds, and "The Path" from ManMadeMan's album Free To Listen.

Naah but most of the music has a psy flavour to it.
The Delta and X-Dream and many of the names mentioned in this thread have the roots in the psy culture, perhaps that's the reason.
And in my ears i clearly hear the psy trance elements and stuff you don't find in other trance genres or techno.

If Ishkur hasn't put this little genre in the guide yet i think he should. It would be fun to see what he has to say about it

Thanks for those great mixes btw!

Try some of Michael Kohlbecker's releases on psy labels, such as Montauk P - Def=Lim.

X-Dream is probably quite unique in that area so is Spirallianz.

BTW X-Dream -1 +Spirallianz=The Delta
Spirallianz and midi milz are the same thing but each project sounds diffrent.

And damn basilisk what do you mean you made more then one mix! You must point out more!!!
