Exclamation Choosing a new camera

I'm torn between 2 compact cameras.

I've had the Canon Ixus 40 in the past, and currently use an Ixus 70.

Needs:

Good low-light video and picture handling for club stuff.
General decent image quality.
Wide angle lens.

I've whittled it down to either a Canon SD880IS or a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX48.

Canon Pros:
Established on here as a good club camera, pretty much guaranteed to meet my needs.

Panasonic Pros:
720p 16:9 video recording, Canon only does 640x480.
25mm wide angle compared to the Canon's 28mm.

Thing is, I have no idea on how the FX48 performs as an in-club camera, a 720p video of darkness with distorted bass is pretty pointless.

ARG!!

Doing a bit of research, it seems that people prefer the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX48 over the Canon. You can check more reviews, but neither of them seem to perform well in dark environments.

Well there is only so much any compact will manage in low light, but there was a big thread with the 880IS being touted as good for clubs.
