ok i'm a huge fan of ronski, however his set was not good, just mediocre. its pretty bad that he played that really annoying song (a pop song remixed by tiesto) twice on same night!! r u fucakin kidding me?? does he not remember?? he played it as a 2nd song and he played it at the end of night. wtf!!! he didnt' seem very excited or friendly. didn't say anything as i was trying to converse with him about his music. i'm like ok... i asked if he'll play old/classic song of his and he's like eh. turns out 99% of songs he played were latest stuff. dude, if u r here for the first time that means your fans would show up and expect to hear some e.o.s., i'm alone, follow you, asajarja, etc. and u play main stream ?? i coudl have done that easily at home with internet radio. heard falling, bigsky (of course), perspetive space, daydream remix, bla bla. usual stuff. i'm tired of same shits man come on. best song was the satellite mash up and lethal industry (richard durand remix). he kept it mostly vocal trance which was good but come on, i want to hear old songs. in fact at t the end i went up to him and we were like what happen to older songs and he gave me this blank look. and the other guy he goes yea what happen to this song and that song and he just turned around. wtf. the other guy goes thats some weak ass shit man and i was like yea i expected to hear good shits. he said he'll be here for atb and i was like yea me too but we were like he better play old shits cuz i dont really care for the same stuff that all the other djs play right now. anyway he was pretty cool. but then again ppl who come out to these events are like him and myself, following certain djs over the years and thinking that they'll play that made them famous but they dont' i think only handful of ppl have done that like cosmic gate, b&j, thrillseekers, etc. who came and played their stuff. not some promotional stuff thats the radio. next time if i see big dj and look up their latest track list from recent club and see that it's same shti i wont even bother showing up. i'm not gonna show up for just some pics or shake hands.
well majai set ws the best, not because he played durado and stemcell but just had better sound to it and variety of sound. oh yea i want that song phoria (eleveation remix) so bad, that song is unbelievable
the crowd was decent. finally fur painted that glass thing behind the dj which is a big distraction with its own lights from other room and toward end of night the light comes on and it's bright as hell. and real distracting. now that overall atmoshpere look awkward with that big of wall painted in red which also sticks out and right above djs head... that place need to get upsdie down and torrn and rearrange everything in that room. just clean everyting out and turn into a giant rectangle wearhouse club where u have the view of dj and lots of room to dance. so disorganized, worst layout ever seen. that place also needs lasers. mmm lasers...
ok it was a mediocre night. i'm burned out from these same songs. everyweek its same and song after song it's predictable. it was like that for even markus whom i worship. most mellow night i had was K&A and thought ronaksi will sound lke them... i expected more and better from ronski but he sounded like just another dj. he could have played all his songs for 2.5 hours. easily.

I thought his set was great!! I think a Euphonic night with K&A, Ronski is in order
I know some people don't prefer all the newer songs but for me I love them...I liked the way he mixed it up. I know he played one song twice but I thought that song was cool (I'm not just saying this because we're part of event ) As a DJ, you have to compete with other DJ's to play newest material but also you have to work the crowd with material crowd recognizes...There is always a balance.
My suggestion for some of is, send a myspace message to the DJ's coming out to Fur.. tell them you are coming out to their show and request 3-5 songs for them to play. Tell them what you want to hear! They'll listen. What works in NYC or Las Vegas may not in DC and vice versa. Sometimes DJ's play recognizable material in certain cities because they are unsure how much they can push the crowd. "In some cities people may say how come you didn't play anything new ?" So send him a message on myspace before the show and make your request
Since we are doing progressive / trance every week we are trying to alternate styles of trance on different weeks. ie, next is Mike Foyle his style will be different, then Menno, etc, instead of Sean Tyas, followed by John O, then John Askew. One weekend driving trance, another more melodic, another more progressive, etc... In this way you won't get burnt out
Ronski is very cool guy, He made time to meet people and sign flyers afterwards. Sometimes when DJ first arrives at club there can be some commotion, DJ set up, etc, and they may need a few minutes to adjust to being in a new club and city. Also for many in Germany english is not their first language so it is hard to determine their comfort level.

Are we talking about the same thing? Ronski Speed@ Fur on 26th of January, 2008. I never reply to any posts but this one made me register to post. Are you out of your mind? Ronnie had a great set. Yes, he did play Back in Your Head (DJ Tiesto Remix) twice, but it is a good song and pretty popular in Europe too, so why not. Most people in the US who know about Ronnie are because of the space we are, he did play that. My least favorite song of the night was Gabriel & Dresden "Tracking Treasure Down" it was pretty off from his list. He played Paul Van Dyk too. Crowd was decent because Ibiza didn't have a good DJ that night.
Fur line up looks amazing for next two months!
