I was there, and also was not impressed at all by Picotto's set. He started off okay, but by 3:30 he had lost it completely IMO.
By far the worst set I have heard from him. I am not sure you could call most of the shit he played good minimal techno, and defintely not bangin techno like he played between 2002 and 2005. Saturday was like very blah and boring tech house, even commercial crap IMO. He would drop an occasional good track here and there, but his set had no energy or flow at all, and never built into anything substantial. Seems like he is pulling a Tiesto if you ask me, by trying to satisfy the masses instead of taking any chances and playing anything even remotely earth-shattering.
As for the sound, what I've noticed is that there definitely are some areas where the sound is better and others where it's noticeably worse. Seems they just turn it up too loud for some of the speakers to take it and have not tweaked the system accordingly, which causes this to occur. Hopefully Markus does what Corsten did and requires Mansion to bring in extra sound and tweak it correctly. Either way I am confident Markus will do better than Picotto.
