oh you can indeed do that. but you should do it yourself and have the knowledge to decide which parts you need and which dont.
I use a minimalized windows xp, which misses some parts of the OS that are not neccessary for me. But I must say I use this machine for music only, and it wouldn´t make sense to use it for anything else.
The primary advantage of this approach is that you have more system memory availiable. My MusicWindows uses 40 Megs of RAM when it´s idle, normal windows takes about 200-500 Megs.
So you have more free RAM = more Softsynths, more Samples, faster Working Speeds...
No Idea about the dualcore thing though. I use AMD Processors since Pentium II so I don´t have any idea.

theres a way to do it basically the stupid tits that released it didn't apply the extra 2 lines of code to one of the bat files that tells xp to look for multiple cpus on boot. Google it i know its on a laptop forum somewhere. my question tho is why not just ctrl shift esc and kill everything running and then don't run graphic effect.s
