King Holy crap: MixMeister

Do any of you have this fantastic piece of software? Finally, a program which works the way I've always wanted mixing programs to work like; in sequence. No longer do I stress over "mixing live". With this, I can fuck a part up, pause, fix it, and it's not like it's recording my every move, so it's all gravy

A few questions I have about this though:

Is it respectable to use in a club or at a party? Essentially you could just make a huge playlist at home, tweak it to perfection, then play it live. Well, that's stupid. In my opinion this is only for professional mixing, as in Tiesto's compilations. I'm sure he uses this type of software to make his albums.

Pretty much just answered my own question there

I guess that's all. I just finished making a half-assed love mix for my gf and it's probably the best smoothest sounding mix I've ever made. I used to use Traktor and before that VirtualDJ.

Thanks.

What's the fun in that?

He doesn't use Toys-R-Us software like MixMeister. These days, that stuff is done with Ableton Live and/or Pro Tools.

No, as answered already.. but then again I don't really care what the DJ uses in a club or party. It's always a lot cooler to see them spin with turntables and stuff, but some just don't give a fuck if you use MixMeister or the like.

I'll just say if it works for you, do it.

It doesn't seem cheap or childish to me though. I'm a real beginner at this and it's perfect for me, so maybe it's just amateurware. Yeah, that's it.

yeah same, and even then its not perfect. Ears are always the best =P

but like ur not Djing with mixmeister, ur just putting tracks into a computer and it does it for you. Like why would a club pay for someone to just pick tracks and thats it..just pick the tracks.

It's blackhole's philosophy to record their compilations live. So it's actually being mixed using cdj's and such. In a studio of course. They feel it's more real that way.

However a lot of transitions are re-done and then pasted into place making the mix sound super solid and compilation worthy in the end.

Sounds "live" to me, lol. Whatever, as long as it sounds good!

i use mixmeister to make quick mixes to listen to in my car and whatnot, beats a normal burnt cd with no mixing. it also helps to pre-plan a recorded mix, kind of like a rough copy before i actually begin recording, gives you a good idea of what works and what doesnt.

on a side note how does mixmeister differ from pro-tools?
