Re: new to Germany

Hey all,
I just showed up to Grafenwoehr (getting stationed here for the next few years) and I know there's not a lot in the immediate area - do any TAs over here have any recommendations for good places/clubs/events that aren't too far away? I'm thinking mainly Nuremberg and the like...well pretty much anywhere in southern Germany.
I'd really appreciate any input. I'd be down for meeting some TAs from here too.
Thanks! |
I am from Nuernberg (but transferring to China atm, so we probably won`t see each other much...) and Nuernberg has a very good Techno, Minimal and Electro Scene. No Trance, sorry...
Some club/event recommendations:
Club Zoom - http://www.zoomclub.de/ - pure electronic music club, mostly Techno but very good lineups (Karotte, The Advent etc.)
Rakete - http://www.dierakete.com/ - has some electronic events like kiss club etc. with some very nice lineups. Check the lineups before going there, they have "normal" party nights too
Hirsch - http://www.der-hirsch.de/ - is an event hall right next to Rakete and has some good EDM nights, again mostly Techno like Sven Vaeth etc.
Club Stereo - http://www.club-stereo.net/ - located right in the heart of Nuernberg and has a few Techno events like Patrick Lindesy that are really worth checking out
Kit Kat - http://www.kitkatclub.de/kitkatclub%20djs.htm - basically an after hour club with lots of die hard people that can`t stop partying after 07:00 - beware...
Heilige Liga - changing venue - basically an underground party that gets more and more known when it happens. No advertisment or announcements but only "word of mouth" but one of the coolest events to visit if you catch one, even though the style has been mostly electro recently
Two local DJs I can really recommend here are Juergen Kirsch and Michi Melcher. Again, no Trance involved...
Welcome to G(TA)!

awesome, thanks - I'm actually really interested in getting more into the techno/minimal scene, so no trance is fine by me (if not preferred).

then you will find a lot of music and clubbing in your area.
plus the typical german festivals that get better each year.
especiall there´s a new festival called "Shining" near to Munich, loads of minimal artists there.
