Eh?! This story was done to death in the British media when the story broke!
And besides, the reason Litvinenko got so much coverage is because the post-mortem showed he had been poisoned with a radioactive material, Patarkatsishvili's post-mortem showed he had died from a heart attack (the coroner said his health condition meant he could drop dead at any time). So not really much to get excited about here is there? |
Patarkatsishvilli fled Georgia for his own safety from the current Georgian leadership.
Pardon me then, but the media on this side of the Atlantic was cold on this story. Plus, how can you explain me the death of Zurab Zhvania, another prominent Georgian opposition leader? Or his subordinate, Chelaschwili, a day later in a "suicide".
There's a reason why the agencies used a rare and expensive radioactive material to kill Litvinenko - political motivations to gather public support against the evil Russians - and it worked. British people were scared to believe that the radiation attack could affect any of them. Thousands of people called and/or showed up to test if they had any radiation on them. Airplanes, hotels, and other areas were told to have radiation traces, which scared British public even more. Radiation from allegedly the same source was then even discovered as far as in Germany! Of course nothing can compare to the Litvinenko story probably ever again.
And now we have the same case developing around Okruashvilli, who is fearing for his life and fled to Germany, after making a series of allegations against Saakashvilli's government. Then he was arrested, and appeared on public TV denouncing his claims. Later he was released in the largest bail in Georgian history and immediately fled to Germany, and claimed that he reversed the story because the Georgian police pressured him to do so. Wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Okruashvilli died under natural circumstances not far from now ...

Well those two deaths are highly suspicious (altho I should point out they happened three years ago!)
However, they both happened in Georgia, this happened in the UK and British coroners stated after the post-mortem that Patarkatsishvili died of a heart attack - which of course I should imagine can be induced, but he was also described as likely to die any second
Who knows...?

Yeah ... one thing for sure, that a heart attack is much different from radiation poisoning - much harder to prove that it was murder. So I'll just give up trying to draw comparisons and connections to Berezovski, and other Georgian opposition leaders deaths.
There are too many connections in this case. Yet another of Berezovki's former business partners are dead. Berezovski must be a very cursed man - Patarkatsishvilli (what a tough name to remember) dies and Berezovski was one of the last people to see them before something happened to them.
Interesting to point out that they both were long-time business partners and make their billions the same way pretty much, during the same era and in Russia too ... the difference is that they just robbed different companies. The only notable difference was that Berezovski supports the Saakashvilli regime, and his dead buddy doesnt.
