Proper USB Hubs for MIDI Controllers

So i've been doing quite a bit of searching but haven't found any good answers pertaining to this question-

I have a Macbook Pro and its got simply the 2 standard USB ports- one being used for a wireless mouse, one for an Axiom 61 keyboard-

Is it possible to get a hub that would say power the wireless mouse, and a UC33e? And maybe even a Pad Kontrol?

I know that sounds like excess of controllers but I like to use several surfaces, and its a pain only having the the 2 ports.

Are their any hubs up to the task of powering those things?

Thanks

A quick search pulled this one up. Good idea to use one, I think.

On a related note: I had a friend with a MacBook (don't know what model or how old specifically) that had issues with bus power to his mbox, straight off the laptop, no hub. Something to do with power management settings on certain models? Can't remember exactly, but does anyone else know if that was cleared up?

Certain mini usb hard disks we sell come with a USB cable that has also has a female usb port on the back of the part that you plug the cable in to the laptop/computer. So essentially it frees up one port for you. It may work seeing as though it is only a cable not a powered hub. Especially if one of those devices is only a mouse.

I couldn't find an exact image for it but it's very similar to this. Except it doesn't have the mini USB connector at the other end just the normal male head.

I can only recomend not to buy a cheap one when you want to use it in the studio. I just got an usbhub last week. It has a PS so that I can power PadKontrol, Remote SL and Mouse. The problem is that the Powersupply makes audible NOISE. To get a good PS would cost more than that shitty usb hub.
