don't see what all the rage is about to be honest. its just the same as the others for the most part. good game sure, but imo bioshock was easily the best shooter of 2007.

Great game, but overhyped. It's executed really well, but there's nothing original about COD4, and I'm really starting to get sick of all these FPS clones. First it was WW2 shooters, then they FINALLY got over that phase, and now it's the same thing with modern day shooters, and the COD franchise is just jumping on the wagon again.

yeah, me too. bioshock was freakin insanely awesome, but crysis and COD4 were merely good.

there's only so far for the shooter genre to go which is the problem imo. though who knows, 2008 might bring something great!?

I thought crysis was really good, just not as innovative as it was hyped up to be. Bioshock is definately next on my list.

As far as upcoming shooters, I'm really looking foward to Deus Ex 3.

i thought crysis was great til the alien stuff. still havent finished it coz it got boring. and yes, definitely keen for deux ex 3!

bioshock is the same as system shock, but having never played system shock, i found it incredibly atmospheric and full of style. serious style. prob the most stylish game ive ever played, the attention to detail was incredible.

CoD4 was/is amazing. Definitely up there with HL2:Ep2 for best FPS of 2007. The pacing and action were top notch and I love the added depth to the multiplayer (levelling up; weapon upgrades, etc).

edit: I'm pretty sure DX3 has been confirmed. Can't wait for it. Part 1 was one of the best games of all time.

Entirely different games. CoD4 is meant to be like playing a movie and that's what it is. It's an amazing cinematic experience with a pretty decent storyline. MP is by far the best though

Yea Deus Ex 3 is confirmed. Fuck I'm so pumped as Deus Ex is my favourite game of all time and what I (and many others) consider to still be the best game of all time.

yeah, but its just another CoD really. that said ive only played a couple of missions, i have my hands full with FA & sins of a solar empire now i admit im biased and over the shooter. that said, ill still be picking it up when i have the time to play it. it was fun, but nothing jumped out at me saying "OMG this is so new!" which is kinda what im after these days.

and yes, deus ex was definitely one of the best games of all time. i REALLY hope they can do a sequel justice. pumped

Played the CoD4 Multyplayer demo on Xbox live and i liked it overall but decided not to get it, nothing special.

Crysis was very boring imo
