I play there quite regularily, sound is good, booth is setup well.
Diverse crowd depending on what night you're there. The bigger events have good numbers.

Friday morning I read this thread, and Friday night I randomly ended up at Blak.
Apparently it was a special event, their anniversary or something, so it wasnt their 'typical friday night' Normally on a friday night its a bunch of 17 yr old candy ravers with Carebear backpacks (see cosmic fur's photos) dancing to happy hardcore. But friday night was Minimal Techno
The venue itself isnt very nice. But when you have good music its the last thing on your mind. Lots of black lights. And I couldnt sit on the couches after seeing Cosmic Fur's pics lol. The smoking area is extremely small and disusting. We were pretty much standing in puddles.
I dont think I have ever been anywhere with such nice staff. The the guy at the front kindly ignored the fact that i left my ID at home, coatcheck boy was super friendly, the bouncers inside were friendly, and so were the bartenders.
You werent allowed to bring your waterbottles into the bathroom (which annoyed me) so constantly having to ask the bartenders to fill up your bottle became a bit of a drag.
The crowd: As with every place theres always the bit of sketch, but 95% of the people were friendly. I met some great people. Everyone was just smiling and into their own groove. There were a couple drunks for a bit that really pissed me off, eventually they disappeared.
The music: Until last night I didnt really like techno... BUT wow. It just kept building up, I felt like my head was going to explode. I have never danced that hard. I didnt really know who the DJs were. The first one didnt do much for me. But one of the Spanish guys and Jamie Kidd Jamie Kidd just hit that spot inside me. It was freakin good. I stayed until the music was shut off, and the last hour was the best - so much room to dance
I had such a great night... and now have a new love for techno.
So to your friend who was asked to play there... If its a normal friday night, BIG FAT NO. Little kids running around = bad time. But if its a sat or sun, or a special event on a friday BIG FAT HELLLL YES!
