Mathew Jonson - New Age Revolution EP [Wagon Repair]
A. Symphony For The Apocalypse
B. Twin Cobras
Side A = fucking amazing tune. Mathew Jonson does it again. Absolutely amazing piece of music, imo very forward thinking, and futuristic. The samples on bport suck, you really need to hear the whole thing.

Yes, Symphony for the motherfucking win. So huge. His best since Marionette imo.
Twin Cobras is good too, nice mix of techno and dubstep. Requires few listens.

I haven't heard the original "Symphony For The Apocalypse", but jusdging from the sample on beatport, this is dark, sinister, nightmarish and disturbing at the same time...which is a good thing! I loved indeed the grotesque techno that "marionette" was and this seems to be in the same vein. Pulsating bits and bass provide the basis for rising and falling repeatetive nightmarish dreamy pads that embrace a brooding lead. "Twin Cobras" sounds more like a soundtrack to a low-budget weird horror film of some sorts. This kind of "goth-techno" (lol!) brings to mind another producer that i used to like: Lawrence. Make sure to check both of his albums:
"The Absence of Blight"
and
"This Night Will Last Forever"
and 2007s
"Pond E.P."
(if you haven't already...)
