Describe the pai - does it stay in the center of the back around the spine, or radiate out? Any numbess / tingling in the arms or legs or neck? Does the pain run down to your lower back and into the pelvis and legs? Is it a throbbing pain or a sharp stabbing pain?
Reason I ask is that depending on the symptons it can be ruled as musculaoskeletal pain or nerve pain. In both cases you should see a doctor.
As for me, I'm on Mobic for my back pain which is skeletal pain, which comes from carrying around 90 pounds of combat gear all day. There are drugs and therapies that can help, don't get to discouraged ok buddy? I know how depressed you can get when the pain is so severe you can't do your job. I was pulled of patrols for 3 days I was FURIOUS, my mates going out and me not able to watch their backs. Remember, it does not take much to injure your back, yu could have pinched a nerve lifitng the object you were carrying, weight doesn't always matter. Just make sure that you see a doc if it worsens or doesn't improve shortly. Also remember that back injuries and pain are very common now a days, even in young folks. Take it easy and see a doc, take some Ibuprofen or Naproxen for the pain, but NOT together as they will cancel eachother out, until you can see a doc. Also try a heating pad that may help alleviate the inflamation and pain, if only a little.
Hope I helped man!
