well, i dont know how good your productions are but the best way is to send demos off to record labels

i heard when ferry corsten was doing promos for out of the blue (system f) he just sent out promo pressed vinyls with only a pager number on it, i guess he was pretty confident, hell i would be too wiht that kind of track, but like i talked to l-vee (aka airwave) and he said he had like 50 some demo tapes before he finally got his record deal, so the best advice is to keep trying and never give up, but make sure you send those demos to record companies, and dont limit yourself, send it to a shitload of record companies

Yeah, send demos, and send them EVERYWHERE.

Give them to amateur DJ's, give them to your friends, send them to labels etc. etc.

It takes some hard work to get heard (even just in the internet) but in the end it'll result to something.

I haven't done that yet, but that's just because I do not feel that I'm quite ready for it yet.

I'm not sure sending demos to all kinds of record labels is the way to go.. it may seem so.. but remember most labels do not listen to unsolicited demos. Nobody told ya getting a record deal is easy

Get a dj to play your tunes, get big in your local area.. play live..start small and build your reputation

Respek!

True, but what good is it to produce a mind blowing demo if the label isn't gonna listen to it?

Then what's a solicited demo? How can you get the record companies to hear it?

I have a friend who once wrote articles about all kinds of stuff, including one about getting your name out there...

He used to be signed at Australia with his band (Tainted Violets) and he currenltly runs his own indie record label (Zeitgeist Records).

I'll try to dig up the articles...

A solicited demo is when the label asks your for a demo. The label might have heard some jolly good talk about your music or performance and is looking for new talent.. then they might ask you for demo

get your plates out to DJ's, if the tracks r good they'll spin 'em. If the tracks are really good folks will start asking around. Good DJ's are always looking for good material that noone else has, if you hook 'em up with good tracks, they'll mention you. Also depending on how many you press, you might want to drop 'em off at record stores, just white label promos, again that's where DJ's look for new sounds.
