Moby is an absolute genius

A genius in the world of electronica who has revolutionzed the face of music through various degrees of magnitude. Moby helped make electronica what it is today.

He also helped bastardize it by making 2 albums full of commercial jingles.

Eh... I disagree. Hotel was very spotty, but I rather liked 18. And Play was simply masterful. I honestly think Moby is at his best when he drops rave mentality. His downtempo and ambient songs are very emotive, and even his earlier dabblings in rock were fairly impressive. The guitar work on Animal Rights is surprising.

Moby is a good producer who happened to cheese out and get very popular. Nothing "revolutionary" there.

One of the first CDs to get me into that kind of music was a Mixmag vol. 3 Svenvath vs Moby set. I was sold.

To me he seems like the a more successful Paul Oakenfold, both have done quite a bit, yet both have gone for the more commercial side of things
