Sasha & Digweed, Columbus OH Review
Whats up Midwesterners? I was able to see Sasha & Digweed 4/9 in Columbus OH at a club called Karma, so I thought I would drop in and give you the low down for all you people who will see the show in different cities.
I had never been to club Karma in Columbus OH, but I am in Indy and this was the closest and cheepest place for me to catch this tour. Plus it is also cool to check out new clubs. Karma is small, 1000 people max, and at first entering I was a bit dissappointed in the size and layout, but the club more than made up for the size limitations with the sound and light systems, and of course the headliners helped a bit. At first I didn't think to much of the lighting, but there was a huge light board in front of and behind the DJ booth that was damn cool. They didn't fire this up until Sasha and Digweed came on. The sound @ Karma was crazy. The dancefloor was litterally surround by speakers on the ground and hanging from the ceiling, and standing in the middle of the dance floor made every hair on my body stand up. It is now 2 days later and my ears still aren't back to normal.
As for the show, all I can say is WoW. I wasn't really into Kazels opening set. He really never connected with crowd I thought, but when Digweed first came on the energy in the club instantly changed. The dance floor was instantly packed and the crowd was really into it. And let me tell you, Digweed didn't disappoint. Sasha came on about an hour later and it seemed the energy jumped up another notch. They switched a couple more times and were both up there at the end. To be honest, I couldn't even tell who was playing when they were both up there towards the end because Sasha was on one side of the booth with a apple laptop in front of him and Digweed was on the other side of the booth. The last half of the show was just unbelievable. It never let up and you didn't want to take a break because you didn't want to miss anything. I listen to EDM almost exclusivly, and I didn't recognize a single track they played.
This is the best show I've seen in years, and definetly better than the Delta Heavy tour from 4 or 5 years ago.
Anyone going will not be disappointed.
