Thumbs down corporate america is horrible

all the politics and ass kissing, horrible co-workers/bosses...bleh...i really wonder how people can put up with the crap for their entire working lives without going postal!

IMO 90% of the stress comes mostly from interactions with your co-workers/boss and only 10% from the actual function of the job...

I've become desensitized to it and have stopped caring. I see so much messed up shit at work all of the time and it used to really bug me, but now I just shrug it off and go about my way.

I dunno, I found the job itself the worst part when I worked in the dairy / frozen department at Target. My boss seemed decent and was interesting to talk to, but the work I did was mind-numbingly boring...

I'm the evening dairy order clerk at my store (see: not Target), and I love it. That job is one of the more independent ones in my department, so all of my bosses just leave me alone and let me do whatever I think needs to be done. It's nice.

Frozen order clerk, however...

id much rather be in a corporate job than some stupid ass retail job that you have 5 chores and thats it. at least the admin job has things that make it more interesting.

my ideal job would be like that in the sense that my boss would just leave me the fuck alone to do what i had to do...unfortunately i've learned that more often than not they tend to be control freaks =/

Pretty much. I mean the job itself is boring, but the simple fact that I don't have to deal with any bullshit from people above me is what I like.

Same here. I get shit from my immediate supervisors or managers sometimes because, to quote them "I don't give a shit." I tell them they're spot on. I don't give a shit. Moving fucking tables isn't something that I will dedicate my life to, and it certainly doesn't define who I am. I come in, do what's expected (sometimes a little less) and leave. I'm not gonna go out of my way to save their incompetent asses every time they screw up and I won't buy in to their corporate propaganda about how amazing it is to work for this damn company.

And that reminds me why I love my job. I'm a web programmer/designer in a Japanese language school (awkward, I know) and, even though I could be earning more than I do now, the freedom I'm given is priceless

Also, it's almost drama-free.

i don't know. the previous job i had, i was listening or talking with managers 75% of the time, and doing actual work 25% of the time. i left that job for something better, and now i with co-workers to help them or help managers 75% of the time, and doing actual work 25% of the time ..... and the bosses ask why my production is not as quick as it used to be.
