just caught a bit of the debate regarding this on Channel 24, and I found more about those proposed changes on Canada Immigration website (in case anyone applied, and is waiting for it to go through like I am or is planning to apply soon)

Those who applied prior to February 27, 2008, will not be subject to the new measures and will be dealt with fairly under the existing rules.

i am not talking about the scarf used in many islamic cultures.

I'm talking about the piece of cloth that covers a woman face leaving small holes for the eyes or a grillage.

A woman reduced to a small hole so she can see where she goes... barely. Honnestly what can this woman contribute to the Canadian society? No one will hire her.

Do you realize that Canada is at war with the talibans who were imposing this to all afghani women?? Does it make sense that at the same time we fight a political/backward way of life system, we accept at the same time people who adhere to it??
