Last year for our 1 year anniversary we had Donald Glaude & Jelo in to play...the first massive international DJ appearance Hamilton had seen in years. Since then we have treated the Hamilton electronic music fans to an impressive list of acts: 2 Grammy award nominated artists, Dirty South & Andy Moor; 2 Juno award winning artist Hatiras & Macca; international superstars like Chris Lake, Max Graham, Kobbe, Kenneth Thomas; as well as being the face behind Mansion Thursdays at Sizzle during the summer months with the legendary Dj Dan and Starkillers. All this while keeping every top dj in Toronto, like Mark Oliver, Vinyl Junkies, Jelo, Sydney Blu, Nathan Barato & Carlo Lio, Manzone and Strong & Brad Copeland in steady rotation at O Lounge and Sizzle.
For our 2nd year anniversary, and our last big event at O Lounge until next October (yes, we're moving back to Sizzle in hess Village for the summer) we bring you international house music legend...

Using the Green Velvet moniker to make his singularly twisted, funk-flecked house and techno hybrid, it was as Cajmere that he made his first musical mark back in the early 90's after ditching school half way through a post-grad, chemical engineering degree at top-notch US college Berkeley.
Up until then music had been a hobby fueled by cobbling together tracks on a "sixty buck keyboard, a cheap four-track and a cheap drum machine" while still an undergraduate at the University of Illinois. This DIY method of production was never taken seriously and when childhood plans to become a doctor were shelved Jones was firmly committed to a career as a chemical engineer. Because his dad was an occasional DJ — and no-one wants to do what their dad did for a living, right? — a musical path was something he'd never considered as a teenager.
Desperate to make some "weirder electronic shit" he set up Relief, an offshoot of Cajual, in 1993. The label gave birth to his first Green Velvet production 'Velvet Tracks'. While Green Velvet (a name given to him by a friend's dad) provided a more intense and wickedly creative production outlet behind studio doors, it also allowed him to unleash his deeper-seated artistic urges in public, on an unsuspecting audience.

In less than 2 years, this Nightdreamer resident already has built a reasonable resume. Having opened and closed for almost every top dj from Toronto like Jelo, Hatiras, Mark Oliver, Vinyl Junkies, Manzone and Strong, Sydney Blu, The Roaches and the rest. He has also been on the bill with international superstars Chris Lake, Max Graham, Dirty South, Kobbe & Andy Moor.
He's mostly known for playing "fun, party house" and the uber popular "Dirty Girls Play House" series that has seen several thousand cd's make it into the hands of Hamilton's party goers. Don't be fooled by his mixed cd's. His live sets will pump out anything from moody and dark melodic techno to banging progressive to in your face electro to anything with a funky groove...and his dj booth antics are the cherry ontop.

This Southern Ontario transplants sound is heavily influenced by his native home town of Montreal. Deep bassline grooves with seem less transitions in his mixes with some serious track selection is whats making this dj become increasingly popular in the 905 area.

Since tommys return to the decks a couple years ago, he continues to get hot, having played on bills with the likes of donald glaude, dj dan, chris anderson and jelo his combination of crowd plaesers and dancefloor killers are becoming the norm during his preformances. With his schedule now starting to fill up with dates at Circa and in Las Vegas, this homegrown hero will be planning to unleash hell on the 25th, so bring your dancing shoes... and leave your morals at home.
