Question Need advice on laptop brand

ok, I've had it with this Dell Latitude. 2 nights ago it failed yet again, and I lost an ass load of information, including some of those renderings from that model I showed you guys. I can't keep living with reformatting a laptop every month because the HD has failed.

I've been looking into getting a MacBook Pro...only thing is I have to type papers and such and I'm used to the windows format. It would be a hassle to get accustomed to a whole new world of an operating system. Plus, I dont like the price too much on the MacBook. I think it's ridiculously overpriced, take it or leave it. That's just my opinion. Somewhere around $700 - $1400 is what I need, nothing really over that.

That being said, the things I prefer the most are processor speed and memory. I dont know of it's the ADD in me or what, but I hate slow ass computers with a passion. I like my shit to be fast as lightning. I dont care too much about hard drive space or so-called "looks" of a laptop. I just need to get rid of this laptop before it gets thrown into a freeway.

Any suggestions? I am also considering the MacBook (not the Pro).

Something that can handle Ableton, Serato, and AutoCAD, that's it. No skippage like this piece of amphibian shit Dell D400.

If you want AutoCAD you're going to need a decent graphics card in the lappie.

Something along these lines, maybe.

Avoid Vista like the plague, my college workstation for CAD has Vista, and it doesn't help one bit. Of course they also have fail graphics cards, so that too doesn't help(Though they worked quite well on XP, ergo, I'm chalkin' it up to Vista.).

Yea FUCK Vista. My mom has that shit and I just want to rip apart her PC. I keep trying to tell her that Gates complained of having only $43B left, and wanted more, so he created Vista and Aero, two of the most ridiculous things ever created in mankind.

I'm actually running XP, and will until the day I die most likely. It goes well with CAD, but screws up alot when I do SketchUp, or any 3D rendering programs.

I like that VAIO there. I guess I forgot to mention that I'd prefer having 2 gigs of Ram instead of 1.

Nice website though. Thanks man.

Newegg is an excellent website...
Only bad part is that you and I have to pay state sales tax(They've locations in CA and TX D: )
You can always buy a RAM kit, they're like $40 bucks
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&name=DDR2+667+(PC2+5300)
(That's under 2x1GB, with 667[That's what the lappy comes with, so that's what you should get])

Acers from newegg are a good deal. So are the ordinary macbooks albiet the screen is very small. Not the macbook pros. Those are a ripoff if you ask me. As for windows you can always run microsoft office on OSX.

I personally own a Dell and it has worked out great for me. Same processor, harddrive, screen size as a macbook pro for about $1100.
