So a number of christmases back, I was at my cousin's place and he had what if I remember correctly was ESPN Winter X Games Snowboarding, and it was fucking awesome. First snowboard/skateboarding game I've played and it pretty much got it right as far as I was concerned. Well, the whole game wasn't amazing, but slope style (or w/e its called, smallish run with several small trick opportunities and a few big ones, one person at a time competing for score) was a blast, and I really don't know what the snowboard game scene's like these days, and I just got a craving to play something like that. Anyone know what the scoop is with games around now? From what I've heard Amped 3 is decent but more arcade-y than its predecessors, and Shaun White wasn't that great, so are there any others out there / anything coming out in the future?

SSX Tricky was what I was all about.
Though if you are looking for realism, probably not your cup of tea.

ssx on tour was pretty good, but i dont think that was a 360 title.
snowboarding is difficult because it can either be a fun GAME, like ssx or realistic, like NOTHING. because realistic snowboarding is only fun in real life. i think games could do better, but shaun white is the best as i have heard. doesnt mean its good however|

Yeah I don't think a next-gen version of SSX was ever made. It'd be nice if there was one.
As for realism...I tend to agree, in fact I think that's true across just about any game. The only exception is maybe racing, since I do have a soft spot for Gran Turismo.

my friends used to tell me that the original amped was realistic, but it really just had poor controls which made it hard. it wasnt difficult because it was 'real' however.
i will say that trying skate 2, while it isnt snowboarding, was pretty fun. they seem to have fixed quite a bit of what went wrong in the first one while still having realistic controls and trick progression. this is all from the demo tho, and it seems the whole game still has some problems|

yeah skate 2 is sick, gotta actually practice a bit to be decent and you can't just do double backflip kickflip 360's the first time you play, thats what i like about it. kinda looking for something similar in a snowboarding game but looks like i'll just live with skate 2 for the time being
