Munich:
The 'Deutsche Museum', which is basically a huge science museum. If you are into science, it is the place to go, but i have never had the chance to get in, yet. I heard it takes ~2 days to 'walk' all the way through it looking at all exhibits.
If you are into German drinking culture, you might want to go to the 'Hofbräuhaus' which is a beer-garden/ brewery that is quite famous in germany -afaik. But i heard it was way overpriced and that you can get better beer elsewhere in munich.
If you are not vegetarian and are not scared of not knowing exactly what you eat, go eat 'Weisswürste'. They are white 'sausages' serves with sweet mustard and usually pretzels. Iv love them.
Generally, Munich has a lot of nice buildings, just walking around some of the places, you will find really nice architecture from the later 19th/ early 20th century. There used to be an exhibition on German currencies, but i am not sure if that was temporary or permanent.
Furthermore I think there is some Palace somewhere in the center that is worth visiting, but i am not sure anymore..
Should I come for PvD (~80% sure that i will) I might be able to help you get around, if you wanted me to. Especially if I am there with the train, I cannot take a ride home till the afternoon anyhow, so I'd have some time to waste/ spend in munich..
let me know if you are interested.
