Just trying to some good Sushi Spots that are not in the NOBU Price range. Mid to downtown areas,etc...Usually my meal of choice before I go out, just want to find some good quality stuff.

Sushi Park by St. Marks Place isnt bad...50% off sushi after 7pm i believe
There's this other place up around the East 80's, that had a really good all-you-can-eat place, think the name is Yuka or something.
EAST - a chain throughout the city, but the quality isnt bad either..and actually the one on E44st near Grand Central has some kickass Yakitori, Tuesdays 50% off
I've heard these places r great too - Haru, Matsuri, tomoe sushi, blue ribbon (I *think* that costs a bit less than Nobu)

asiakan on W 94th. I know its not downtown, but they have the FRESHEST sushi I have ever had, and the food and cocktails are AMAZING. The vibe is awesome.....think andy warhol (sp?) buddha style. Very mad, and they have a mod lounge with fancy cocktails and couches and chilllll house music playing.
LOVE it.

Tomoe - it's on Thompson and the corner of Houston. Best sushi I've eaten, they don't take reservations so you might have to wait a bit. But it's worth it.

Blue Ribbon Sushi - 119 Sullivan St. btwn Prince and Spring streets
Probably the best tasting sushi I've had around the city, and really fresh. Prices are average to maybe a bit above average for a sushi restaurant, but definitely not Nobu prices. There's one in SoHo and in Park Slope.
