I absolutely love these guys saw them for the 1st time a few months back at the drink and they swept me off my feet with their first track, it was just crunchy and at a fast pace. What blows me away is that they have only been around for about 2 years officially and all the tunes they deliver are super solid. After seeing them at the drink I checked out a few of the videos on You tube and they rock all their shows. They were the only act I was truly exited to see on the second day of this years Wemf and they totally delivered the hardest electro sound ever totally insane. There going to be at this years LOL in the Tent outside and I so recommend that if your there take at least 30min out of your night to come see these guys if you haven’t before!
Some Info:
MSTRKRFT (read as "Masterkraft") is an electronic music group from Toronto (East York), Ontario, Canada who are signed to Last Gang Records. The group was started in 2005 by Jesse F. Keeler formerly of Death from Above 1979 and Al-P (Alex Puodziukas) formerly of the Mississauga electropop group Girlsareshort. Al-P was also the producer for Death from Above 1979's debut album You're a Woman, I'm a Machine as well as several of (Jesse's former band) Black Cat #13's records. MSTRKRFT also produced Die Mannequin's first EP, How to Kill, and Magneta Lane's second LP, Dancing With Daggers.
Their first single was "Easy Love", released in 2006. The music video featured four women in business suits drinking strawberry milkshakes. In the second half of the video, the women get into dentists' chairs and get strawberry milkshake poured on them. They released their second single, "Work On You", on July 6th. In contrast to the "Easy Love" music video, "Work On You" featured animated robots similar to those found in classic cartoons (see: Voltron, Transformers ). Although The Looks is MSTRKRFT's first album featuring original content, the band has created remixes from a variety of other artists ranging from Buck 65 to The Kills to Jesse F. Keeler's own band, Death from Above 1979.
MSTRKRFT released their first LP, The Looks, on July 18th, 2006 in the United States and February 2nd, 2007 in Britain. It contains only original material, including the songs "Easy Love", "Work On You", and "Paris". Keeler and Al-P told Eye Weekly weeks before the release of The Looks, that as the album was being finished, the planning stages for a follow-up record had already begun. Describing the upcoming album's new direction, Al-P said that the album would be "darker, underground disco and house with elements of American rock music."
Additionally, set to be released as a single is the remixed "2007" version of their song "Street Justice". On the band's website message board, Keeler mentioned they were also working on a compilation album comprised of their remixed tracks.
Their song "Paris" was featured in a 2006 commercial for the online music store URGE. MSTRKRFT is scheduled to appear at the 2007 World Electronic Music Festival (July 20-23).

Definitely not my cup of tea musically, but I respect them a whole lot for what they've accomplished. They know how to market themselves, and have a massive following it seems, everywhere. If I were to label any dj duo out there as 'fucking rockstars' (lol) it would be these guys, easily.

This thread seems kindof late (as in years)! But yeah... they are good stuff. If you like MSTKRFT, you might like Justice too, they are coming to TO in the fall. The MSTRKFT remix of Justice's D.A.N.C.E. is pretty good.. but i'm starting to get sick it since I hear the original or a remix of it nearly every time I'm out.
