dust protection

do you guys cover your setup after you use it so no dust builds up?
some dude in the post your setup had (what looks to be) a custom crocheted cover for his mixer which i thought was so awesome. go arts and crafts! i currently don't but have a dog now and wonder if im stupid for not having something on it right now. i keep em clean but fader crackling would really piss me off if i knew it was all my fault for not asking a stupid question on a forum.

I use the cloth covers my turntables came with, and put a towel over everything else. Yes i would say put something over it. At the radio station I spin at we get fined if we leave and dont put the covers back on EVERYTHING.

My 1210's have their plastic covers that i use on them every time i'm using the decks. And i throw a towel/rug over the mixer and rest the earphones on top of that.

Definitely cover up your gear. Even if your house is clean dead skin particles and what not (dust essentially) will always be around.

Whether or not it'll do any damage. I dunno. Over a long time perhaps. But i'd do it just to be safe

i have my equipment covered up as well. I have a blanket over it for now until i build my custom table that will have everything under control.

i'd like to cover my mixer but i dunno what i would cover it with. i'm not gonna use a towel because that's ghetto as fuck (sorry if i offended anyone with that, but it is).
i guess i'd like to get a dust cover for my mixer that actually looks decent and doesn't cost an arm and a leg + is easy to use. haven't found one yet (haven't really searched either).

i always have my gear covered up with some random pieces of cloth that got all wrinkled up after throwing it in the washing machine.
It's always good to keep your gear from collecting dust..

I use a towel, and put my pouch'd headphones on top of it, so as to dissuade the cats from sleeping on the borrowed mixer ><.

I don't think it looks ghetto.. i like my 'rag' it even has small pictures of houses on it. Home is where my decks are lol..

Either way, my rag will protect it. Good luck finding a cover, unless you make one. I'd guess they're pretty hard to come by.
Flight cases are a good way of protecting i guess

i think it does.

and i wouldn't put any normal cloth on my gear even if it didn't look ghetto. i'd want something that doesn't collect or shed(dunno if this is the right word) dust. but to each his own.
