Looking for very basic percussion

Hey

I use Pro Tools 7.4, Reason 4, a few synth vst/rtas plug-ins, and a couple NI ones too.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a patch or refill or sampler kit, etc, that has some percussions that sound identical or similar the 1/4 note percussion found at the beginning of this mp3: [[ LINK REMOVED ]]

I've been working with synths for a little bit now, but just got into producing in general, so I'm not sure where to start. It's not a very uncommon sound though, from my experiences.

Thanks!

The main hats are pure TR-909, as is the kick.
Also the snare used in the builds...yep...909

You see where I'm going with this?
You need a 909 VST or 909 samples.

Closed hats/shaker is TR-808.

Find some decent samples of them- not hard- and use them with battery or some other drum sample player, or try a VSTi for each one.

I use a secret squirrel seperate 808 & 909 VSTi, which I cant divulge for the moment (sorry- sworn to secrecy.. ), but you could try DSK mini Drumz which is FREE, and has the 808, 909, and some other classic drum machines you may find useful...
Volume output is a bit low on it, but whack a gainer/amp or similar on it, and you are sorted. Ive used this VSti lots and its not bad. Hey, the price is certainly right.Granted, you cant tweak the sounds like you can on a real one or a more advanced VST, so you could use samples for some of them.

Thanks, I did a lot of looking into the history of the TR-808 & 909. I'll let you know how it goes, thanks again.
