You might need sort of a trancegate effectprocessor. Like sonicbytes Gat'R or Camelspace. Might be usefull to thicken your tracks with some subtle gated pads (exzessive use of these is quite dated)
You'd also need a basic drum and percussions sample library

thanks for the suggestions all,
echo, ill take another look, but when i last dove into this over half a year ago, i picked up a third party compressor to do the sidechaining. no doubt got that advice from here.

I have the gold bundle and find the processors very usable. They do exactly what I want them to do. A lot of studio engineers use Waves processors, it's really up to each person to decide what they're going to use. I'm sorry they don't suit your production style, but a lot of people use them just fine.

I'm not saying they're not good, but like echo said, I think there are plenty of people who give a better money to quality ratio. Sonalksis work a lot better for me I have to say. But waves are OK, I was probably too hard on them.
