Newsgroups are the best way to download and always have been for me. I have used Bit Torrent , DC++ , Soulseek and FTP's but newsgroups kick ass. Okay so you might have to pay $10 a month but with speeds upto 1m/b second I can download a DVDRip in about 10 minutes or a 4.5Gb DVD in 30mins and the best thing about it is its Legal as your not actually sharing or re-distributing content
BTW Which client is that and how much do you pay ?

Newsgroups are fast I agree, but after a month of using them, I went back to uTorrent for all my tv show / movie needs, I just find it much cleaner using torrents.
Finding entire seasons of shows proved more difficult with newsgroups.
Still, I do miss the 700k/s downloads, max I get is 400 from torrents.
