Hey everybody!
I've had my Roland JP-8000 for quite a few years now, and it has always worked perfectly! But this morning I noticed that Cubase (and Reason) didn't recieve the midi-output from it (sending midi to the JP works fine, wich is rather strange). It happend over a night, so no settings have been changed or anything (I've checked if that was the case though..). I've also had my soundcard, M-Audio Delta 1010LT for quite a few years also, so I know all the menys etc. I just can't find the problem. Does anybody have an idea?
Big thanks in advance,
Dave
Some info that might help:
Cubase Sx 2.0
Reason 4.0
M-Audio Delta 1010LT Soundcard
(Notice that neither of the sequencers recieve the signals, so it's obviously the soundcard or JP)

well first, take your midi cable and have it go from your in -> out on your sound card. do a quick test in cubase by sending the midi through the out and into the in (and vise versa) and see if cubase is getting a signal. if it is, then its your jp : /

I'd try running the MIDI OUT into the MIDI IN of another hardware device, if you have anything else. Keep it as simple as possible to troubleshoot it (i.e., avoid the interface, software, etc. - too many variables to troubleshoot effectively). Also, don't forget to make sure that you have the correct MIDI channels assigned.

cubase didn't recieve a signal when you just had the midi cable routing the ins & outs on your soundcard?

Thanks for the tips guys!! At first, none of your suggestions worked, I didn't get contact in any way.. not even when I directly plugged it into my virus. I tried and fiddle around some more in the JP's internal settings, and I didn't notice any change. Then I was away for a few minutes for a phone call (I had turned off it's power when I went away), and when I came back it suddenly worked again! Really strange haha, so I don't really know what was the exact problem.. but anyways, it works again with everything!! Thank god! And again, thanks for the tips guys!
