Club Monitors?

Hey guys i'm looking into buying myself a crazy ass dj setup and to add the icing on the cake i need some banging monitors to tune in through... HOWEVER... i want them to be super loud... think of that feeling at a club when a really energetic track peaks and you feel the bass penetrate your body and resonate in your blood.... i mean LOUD and BANGING yet clear and not distorted... i want to be able to feel the beats in my chest and beatmatch my heart to 140 BPM hahahaaa

but seriously though, reccomendations???

oh yeah, another question... where do i find h20/ice cannons like used in clubs... lasers too...

Havent set foot in a club- either working or socially- without earplugs for 8 years now.

Some took the piss, some still do, but I couldnt give a rats ass- I'm the one who can hear the birds in the trees on the way home at 7am and not eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
(although I do have tinnitus,I was born with it and its not an issue- its a million times worse for about 2 days if I go into a club with no plugs )

Why? So you can see how many people think it's cool and uncool to protect there ears and judge by that whether or not you should buy some? Fucking idiot.

The smart ones buy a pair of decent qaulity earplugs and keep them nearby almost religously.

As for your original question.. Why? Club sound systems in a house is just plain stupid.. It's overkill, dangerous to your home, sure to get you some noise complaints, will make you deaf in no time, probably wouldn't work anyway due to the lack of room for the sound to move in..

You wan't to feel like your in a club everytime you mix? fair enough.. Go out and buy a decent qaulity amplifier and a nice set of PA Party speakers.. a hell of a lot cheaper, smarter, and if you go for the right brands you will still wind up getting a system that will throw you to the other end of the room as you so wish for.

BTW.. club monitors are not the same as the rest of the PA Speakers in a club. The monitors are suppose to face your ears, at a reasonable volume, and be as clear as possible.

PA Speakers are mean't to be bassy and give you the 'thumping' experience that "penetrates your body"

Not to be a peacenik, but damn... some pretty harsh responses. Funny though.

To the OP: It depends on your house. I've got 2 QSC amps and 2 DOD eq's for each channel with nice PA loudspeakers. You can do several things... get a pair of active/powered PA speakers and you won't need muc else, or hook it up like I've got it with passive speakers, an amp, and an eq. The first is more cost effective, but not a lot of flexibility if you find you want more power or something down the road. A few links below for each type...

I'm not sure why you have to be an idiot to want a lot of power in the house, but if the environment allows for it - as mine does - it makes for great house parties and some extra power at small parties for a small fee.

Active PA speakers (you can find cheaper brands):
