Need some opinions

Hey guys, I need to buy some sort of a mixer to control the volume of my speakers. It'd be like this:
soundcard->mixer->speakers
but the problem is that I don't have any money at all.. I can just spend about ... 60€ -.-

so what should I do?

btw, one question, what kind of cables should I get in your opinion?
I've read that many ppl buy them because they're expensive (like monster cables), but afterall they're just like any other cable...
