My review, moved from the other thread (don't start!):
For food, I ordered the regular mixed meat plate which was excellent. Both the Ćevapi and the shish kebab were perfectly cooked and very juicy. The potatoes were a little dry, but I didn't go there to eat potatoes. I also got to mooch a little bit of the schnitzel, which was equally tasty (not over-breaded which is often the case), and some chocolate crêpe at the end, which I think was good but was already too stuffed to know for sure. Sadly I did not get to try the spicy hamburger which I heard was the highlight for many.
There wasn't much in the way of spice (Ania: they had pepper!?), but part of that just speaks to the quality of the meat, which had more than enough flavour on its own. The only thing I was really disappointed about was that they gave us cole slaw instead of onions.
The kajmak (that was the cheese/yogurt stuff in the naan-ish bread, for those who don't know) was also superb. Way, way better than the stuff I tried a few years ago by the same name. Perfect creamy consistency and mild yet cheesy taste.
The place itself is pretty unpretentious, easy to miss if you're just driving by. I liked that it was also a bar - the drinks made it much better for a social event. The heat was a little ridiculous, but otherwise they made us pretty comfortable. I'm not sure if I'll be heading there every weekend but I'd definitely stop by again if I'm in the area.
Turnout was as expected, about 25 people, most showing up between 6:30 and 7:00. Just felt like rubbing that in.
Unfortunately I didn't really get to chat with everyone. But to the ones I did get to chill with, thanks for making it a great night! RJ and margs, you know it's always a pleasure; Patrick (I think), I hope that scarf is machine-washable; Mikey, you're a lot less serious in person; Kamila, hope this means you'll start to come out once or twice a year; Ania, don't worry, my afro isn't going anywhere; Sasha, I can't believe you passed up the chance for another free shot; Umair, I told you we wouldn't be talking any politics! AJ, now that we've been introduced you'll have to actually say hello at parties when you're standing 6 feet away; and Tara, you're the second-most-fun person I've met here, and would surely have been #1 were it not for the ickypants treatment on our way out.
If I didn't mention you by name, it means I hate you. (Really though, I wish there'd been more time to talk to everyone).
Oh, and thank you VERY much AJ for handling the bill. I'm not sure if you volunteered or if people just started throwing money at you. Either way, I hope you didn't end up short!
Other Highlights:
- The recurring argument about French Ravioli and Lasagne.
- Gettin' diggy wit it (shhhh...)
- Everybody trying to pronounce "hvala".
- Slivovitz shots after dinner (and yes, it IS closest to brandy, and to those who wussed out, you're all a bunch of wussies)
- Requiring 3 attempts plus tech support to take the group picture. Sketchy!
Finally, submitted for the eerily intense scrutiny of RJ and Margs:

But I don't remember where I actually saw it, I'm sorry.
