Pairing a MOTU with a Rosetta?

OK, so currently I have a MOTU 24 I/O as my primary audio interface. I have the opportunity to get a previous generation Rosetta AD, 24/96 AD Converter for a fairly reasonable price. My hardware synths are plugged into the 24 I/O, so that means that the MOTU is handling the analog to digital conversion.

What I am wondering is would there be any audible benefit to putting the Rosetta in between the main outs of my MOTU and my monitors?

been comparing a fireface 400 to deut (rosseta's).

Can't really tell the difernce.
The fire face actually clocks a bit faster that Deut.

Not sure on Motu, but don't think Rossesta's color sound more than other comprabile audio interfaces.

Kinda in the same delima, take back fire face and stick with mac and rosseta's bouncin it downz.
Or go PC keep fireface.

Just wondering are you using a Big Ben to clock your hardware sythns??

No external clock, just using the internal clock on the MOTU.

My question really relates to if there is any audible benefit to passing a signal which is converted from D to A at the MOTU back into the Rosetta, which would convert it from A to D and then back out D to A to the monitors.
I mean, once it has been converted to digital my the MOTU interface, is there really any benefit to passing it through the Rosetta?

Hey Eric, while there is a small difference in the quality of the converters (rosetta's being slightly better) unless you are getting them for an amazing (and I mean really amazing) deal, I don't really think it warrants spending the cash. The 24 IO sounds very clean as it is and you really are getting in to diminishing returns territory.

If the Motu is doing the converting anyway, there is really no point running the signal back out through the rosetta.

Thank you, thats kind of what I figured, but I'd thought I'd ask.
