What do you guys think are the major issues of conflict?
Why have these problems grown worse in recent decades? It just seems like lasting solutions seem to be so elusive/indefinable.

To be more specific:

Zionism and the Arab Israeli war, 1948 when Isreal first becomes a state, PLO Palestinians in opposition to Israel

The Iranian Revolution and Islamic Fundamentalism
-Hamas
Take over US embasssy in Iran
Mossadegh overthrown by CIA



9/11 and the Iraq war
-Al Qaida
-Taliban
-Jihad
