Must read for Torontonians/Ontarians

An article was written about a recent party that took place on a boat in the great city of Toronto. The person who wrote the article based it upon their first Toronto party experience. The author mentions a night out at The Guvernment as well as the amazing time they had on the Bound by Sound Boatcruise.

i'm not sure how to post links here but i will try:

If you don't want to click on the link and go to the web-site, i'll post the article here as well:

-My First Toronto Experience-

In case you were wondering why my blog has been lacking in the past few days, all I have to say is that I just experienced the best week of my life. I thought “DEMF” was quite amazing when I went to it a month ago, however, my Toronto trip exceeded all my expectations and made me realize how incredible of a party-city it is, so bad, that I am thinking of moving there.

The reason why I went is because a friend of mine, Anas Attia, was organizing a boat cruise with DJs on it. It was the ”first-of-a-kind” event for me. I wasn’t sure what to expect, only thing I knew for certain was the list of DJs who will appear there and that was it. Let me tell you guys, if you never been to these party gatherings before, you have to witness it for yourself. Words cannot explain the joy I felt while sailing off into the lake, carried by water and being bound by sound. It was simply magical. Incredible turn-out, amazing fucking music, tons of people, drinks, party like there is no tomorrow, what more could you ask for! By far the best thing about boat cruise was the fact that DJs were on the same level as everyone else. Everyone is real, friendly, and there to have a good time. There is no cockyness, no “I’m-better-than-you”, no feel that anyone else is above you. I don’t need to tell you how cool everybody was, I had an opportunity to meet in person my facebook pals and well-respected DJs such as Anthony Atalla (whom I joked about how short he is, haha, even tho he appears taller in his pictures, magic of photography eh ) and Neno Mileusnic.

The night before, I visited “the Guvernment“, where I saw DJ Dan and Donald Glaude absolutely tear the fucking room apart, along with Manzone & Strong, who are local Toronto DJs. Everything felt so surreal, that I still can’t convince myself it wasn’t just a dream. Partying on the rooftop until sunrise to a badass Toronto sound, in a club considered by many as one of the top nightclubs in the world. The only way I could describe ’TO sound’ would be a mix of minimal, techno, and (dirty) electro. A big shout-out to all the people I have met during my Toronto voyage, to friends that came with me and people I have met there, Masih thanks for letting me know about the boat and being a cool cat, and I can promise you I will see you guys soon. Even tho I didn’t meet you personally, I saw you on the boat and didn’t want to bug the birthday boy, Jelo what’s up! The summer just started, after all.

glad to hear a visitor enjoyed toronto's scene. many out of towners do.
its a shame that local partiers take everything for granted and dont acknowledge the world class scene we have.

ditto to the fullest. I have had some of the best times of my life back in my Toronto days (pre-Ta ).

When I moved to NYC, I assumed that, being such a large city, I had even MORE to expect from a scene. I was soo wrong. (Some) people in toronto take for granted how awesome your scene is: the clubs, the people, the vibe, the music, etc etc......

Nearly everytime I step into a NYC club I think in my head "wtf, why cant it be more like toronto, or montreal or even europe or something?? "

The scene here is so lackluster and what I would refer to as "meh.". LOL Enjoy what you have because its not the same everywhere.

As a matter of fact it's a shame people actually complain about our scene!

If people didn't complain then the "scene" would go to complete crap....its the complaining that makes promoters and clubs keep bringing in different talents and styles....I would be more upset if people stopped complaining.

Good point if it's constructive complaining and not plain bitching! lol

i agree with this. constructive criticism is healthy. however, if you notice on various toronto-based forums, it is definitely "bitching" that is done.

the forums is the perfect place for people to bitch....its here where the people who have contacts within the "scene" can speak with club owners and promoters and convert the bitching to constructive criticism....that being said...some bitching is just bitching and no matter what you do you can't make shit smell like a rose.
