First of all, you probably need to chain a set of effects to obtain the desired results. More importantly though, don't limit yourself to built-in effects in Ableton. There are a plethora of VST's that all do some pretty unique stuff. Check out http://www.kvraudio.com/ - they have a bunch of freebies. One of my favorites to use is dBlue Glitch (http://illformed.org/blog/glitch/) - that one requires a lot of customization to not sound like cheese, but you can save your presets and do some pretty wild stuff.
