Open the text file in excel or another spread sheet program, it will put all he data into colums like name, artist, composer etc. Then just delete the colums that you don't need, that's how I do the song lists for my CDs.

I tried opening it in excel but that still puts it in some crazy format

EDIT: I figured it out, I thought I couldnt open the .txt files in excel but it turns out I can... the stupid .xml files were driving me insane, thanks for your help man!
