These events will only get bigger. EDM is going to grow wildly through social networking sites like youtube and myspace. The main reason why EDM isnt already as big as the other major genres in America is because in the past EDM music never really had an outlet for advertising. Mainstream music in the pop, hip hop, and rock genres have had that through the radio and MTV/BET. And as we know, America in general is a sheep society that relies on radio and television to tell us what to be, like, hate, or do. Through the internet people have been able to find new things outside of the spoon fed genres, and one of them has been EDM.

Dance music has had to play catch up, and catching up is exactly what is happening through the viral marketing by the fans of the music, since the radio wont play our song. Now that the music is easily accessible by people that would not have found the music in the past...do not surprised if we have Creamfields type massives in California on the regular in about 3-5 years.

Also, there probably will never be a need for the mainstream media to push EDM at all. At the rate the genre is growing there will be enough fans to fill up big venues and regularly fill up club events with top DJ's. Its a good time to be a promoter/event host like Insomniac, their business is going to grow vary nicely.

EDC (and honestly just the Massives in general) just get progressively more and more popular. This year was crazy. I have to be honest though, Im not really a "Massive" kind of person, BUT I don't mind EDC because there is space for the most part. Now for something like Monster Massive where they try to stick most of us inside the arena..?? No thanx. Was like a sauna in there last year.

Overall, EDC was good (Farina droppin da hammer..!!), but as it's been said, expect it to just get bigger and bigger.

I have been danced to EDM for as far as I know, but I don't listen to it on a regular basis. I only listen to some trance tracks, but I dance to any EDM. I guess it is because it is for dancing. While Youtube and Myspace can give quite a bit exposure, they don't show much of dancing.

There is this idea that is lingering in my mind. In San Francisco, there are a lot of street fairs and parties. Some promoter could set up a EDM corner there, so that the music and dancing could get some main stream exposure. Selling alcohol next to it can offset the cost.

I was in the Gay Pride Parade Celebration. The energy in the Tantra psy-trance stage was incredible. I think this is the scene that we want people to see.
