Everyone keeps saying wait for Reason 2.0 to come out to all the TA's asking if they should get Reason. Is it really a completely new self contained program or is it just an expansion requiring the original version? The salesman at Guitar Center (where I was going to purchase it from) told me that I needed the original version and that 2.0 was just an upgrade. I'm confused Can someone help clarify me on this, I really don't want to wait just to find out that I really do need the original version anyway. Thanks in advance for any help.

when you say "without having to upgrade" you mean I can choose to get the original now and get a 2.0 upgrade for it or I can wait and get 2.0 as a complete application? In other words, if I buy Reason, am I going to have to shell out another couple hundred bucks for a completely different version when I buy Reason 2.0 or will they have a cheaper "upgrade" version for those people who already have the 1st version? Well to clear things up.....

You can buy a whole new reason package and you can upgrade to another version which is either send to you or are able to download and then youll be given another Cd-Key probably.

Anyway the new things is a whole new sampler (The NN-XT) and is much more efficient than the NN-19. Another thing would be the Malstrøm GrainTable Syntheziser.... This baby requires almost the double ammount of power than a subtractor, but is double as powerful. I have the reason 2 beta(20 min...) and it can really produce those anthemic corsten synths you little wannabe's dreamed of forever. Other than that, it can also make a quite realistic vocoded voice synth kinda sound, which was demonstrated in the promo video, TranceMaster posted? wasnt it?.

Anyway, those are the major things, there are much more small improvements to all the various effects and problems are fixed.
Personally i would call this reason 1,4 and not 2 already......but heck their choice......
