Layering question in FL. Making vsts hit simultaneously.

Maybe a newbie question lol, not sure.

I understand I can copy & paste notes into another synth to make them hit but thats not what I'm looking for.

Is there a way to make say 2 or 3 different synths sound off to one key on a controller?
Would be cool if possible. Thanks!

You could layer the synths by making a "layer" channel. When done, open it's channel settings and while they're showing, use shift + mouse click to select the synths you want to layer by clicking the black things next to the channels names in the step sequencer.

Now just press the "Set children" button in the layer's channel settings.

NO way, I searched "set children" that you put here and saw its in the manual lol.
I actually spent about 20 mins opening and closing looking for the insert "layer channel" in the list. I went up to "more" and it wasn't there.
Needless to say I felt like an idiot to see its actually the FIRST one on the list.
I decided after today I have to clean up my vst list. But thank you! I can't understand how I've been using FL 2 years w/out this feature.

i just copy the piano roll pattern... i find that i end up making slight variations to each pattern anyways...

but... i don't know if we can undo the set children feature... if so i may start using this feature when just coming up with ideas

Yeh it prob makes no difference but after using it today I love it. I just like the fact that I can hit one note on my keyboard and have 3 different VSTs play from my finger and not a loop. Plus copy/paste just gets boring after a while lol.
Always good to learn new ways to do essentially the same thing. Sometimes novelty can just be motivating imo. =]

agreed.

i messed around with it a little today, i'll probably keep using the copy paste method... i honestly don't much use my controller except to bang out chord progression ideas
