This idea manifested during a Battlefield Bad Company session.
Let say that the game is BFBC and i can fulfill this idea into that game.
The whole idea is editor-based. People can make new tasks and missions for the soldiers using separate game editor. This editor provides eg. ways of putting desired amount of enemy soldiers into desired locations. Enemy soldier's paths are also adjustable and people can decide witch weapon they carry. After this has been done, then it is possible to construct strategies for enemies.
This was only one example, and i was thinking this coz strategy-games has editors, so why cant be in fps-games ?

Holy crap.
Thread starter, (I would say TS, but well...you know), look up the word "MOD" on google. Click the third link, the Wikipedia (computer gaming) article. Then weep.

I think you might need to look into the FPS genre a bit more deeper. Practically each FPS that comes out has this capability.

Wolfenstein 3D had one made for it.
I'm talking about the original.
On top of this Doom, as well.

I remember making maps for doom. Such a simple engine to work with - draw convex closed shapes like in MS paint, set a floor and ceilling height, pick wall graphics, and you were done. Times sure have changed.

Consoles generally aren't as customizable due to their being a closed-platform. The PS3 is the closest it gets when compared to PC gaming, and Unreal Tournament 3 is really your only best bet at this point.

Thanks for the replies. Just wondered this, because my friends who are playing console games (fps) online are fed up due the repetitive gaming experience.
