nothing to do with genre but Propellerhead Reason 4.0 is a great program for starters which has everything u need build in. U dont need to think about plugins and stuff. Ive been using it for 4,5 years now and i still think its great. Costs around 4-500USD i think? Only downside with it is that it doesnt have audio input, so U can record vocals/external synthesizers directly. It must be done with a diferent program then import the wav file in Reason later. If reason had Midi out + Audio In it would be the perfect program.
