Will i wont i buy a pair of the pioneer cdj1000mk3's??

nice piece of kit they are but im torn between gettin them or just gettin £15oo worth of vinyl for my beloved technics.

been browsing the mp3 sites and how cheap a tune is £1 or slightly higher and how quick the tunes are released and how cheap u could bang out cdz compared to buyin records were talkin £7-£8 waitin for them being released waiting lists posting etc

any advise on this and what the pioneers are like

buy a used pair of mk2s, then spend the saving on tunes

Only make the jump to the MKIII's if you want to deal with the extra buttons and effects. I use CD becuase im military and my space to store vinal is nil.

Personally id go out and spend 1500 becuase its more fun to have that much more music to build a set around then just what you currently have.

BTW where are you being quoted 1500 for a MKIII you can get them for 1300 online (or cheaper)

You'll save more money and have more convenience in the long run with CDJs because of the cost of vinyl and because you won't be hauling around crates.

Umm, CDJ-1000's don't have "effects". The only difference between the MK2 and MK3 that matter:

1. Platter tension adjust knob
2. MP3-CD playback
3. Slightly higher resolution wave display
4. More storable loops

If you've already got a pair of Technics, have you considered just getting a DVS like Serato, Traktor Scratch or Torq? You'll save a BUNDLE.

And you just know that Pioneer is going to release a new CDJ-1000 sucessor soon with features like that of the CDJ-400/MEP-7000. The 1000 is grossly overpriced right now.

If you love your turntables, then keep using them! Stick with vinyl and grab some new tracks.

Personally mate I'd just go with the 800's. Theres not a huge difference and you'll be able to save money for vinyl.

+1. Just bought an 800 and the price difference vs. the functions of the 1000 can't be justified, unless money is simply no object. And bollocks to the pitch resolution difference between them - if you can't get it locked in on 800's then you need to practise more.

dont mean to redivert the thread, but do you think a flawless cdj800 mk1 for 380 cdn is a decent price used?
