So I finally decided I'd give the Dell a rest before it sees the end of its days in a few weeks when I can get to the nearest pasture with a gallon of gasoline and some matches.
My next big thing is to get my hands on a Mac Pro....however, I do not want a brand new one. I don't believe in spending that much money on a laptop. I've seen them all, rebuilt them, broken them, and in a few weeks my first experimentation in frying one. I am looking at getting something refurbed. A friend of mine has just finished refurbing one, and is asking $1800 for it. I think that's gone overboard. Then again I'm not a Mac person.
What is a reasonable price for a Mac Pro refurb?

New ones with a student discount start at $1899 + tax, so you decide if that is a good deal or not.

It's just one of those days where you want to bend over everyone you know and kiss their ass goodbye with a big sideways boot.
Desperate measures... I don't blame you in a way... However, its not the dell... It is truly Vista that is the shits.
Since buying my m1530 i have been having audio problems. The DPC latency goes through the roof when i am surfing the internet at the same time listening to tunes and even worse, the dpc shoots up when i am spinning on my tech12's with traktor scratch timecode system. IE. the audio stops. People on forums thought it was a hardware issue (mobo) so i got to the mobo replaced, however, this didn't solve the problem.
Then one day i said F it and i formatted my computer and installed XP professional on it and it has been crisp ever since, not one problem with the audio.
I don't know what problems your having but if you have vista, it wouldn't hurt if you formatted it and go back to xp.
I hope this makes sense

You can buy refurbished MBP's from the Apple store for $1300 bucks. Go to Apple.com, search for refurbished mac. Store will come up. There are a bunch.
