You can't even call it bandwagon jumping, no one makes shit like this. No one would willingly release something that sounds this bad

I guess you're right - it just sounded like so many other tunes I've gotten recently with various "jazzy" sounding instruments in them, just done about a million times worse.
It really does still sound to me like he's trying so hard to do all those things the artists/labels I mentioned have been doing well for quite some time, and just failing so miserably that maybe the analogy only seems apt to me.
