Watching HD Rips on Xbox 360
Ok so what HD rips can I watch on the Xbox 360? Divx/Xvid HD rips??
Also do I have to burn them to DVD or is there a way to put the on the hard drive?
Please provide all advice. Thanks

I was under the impression that its impossible to watch divx/xvid on xbox360... you need a special program on your media center desktop to convert those formats on the fly and stream them to the xbox360.

no.
you can transfer your videos to a usb key and watch from there.
or
you can install a sreaming program like Tversity on your pc and have your videos stream on the fly directly to your 360. you need at least a core 2 duo or there is sometimes audio lag.
both options are very convenient for watching all your downloaded movies on your tv lounging on your sofa instead of having to sit cramped over on your desk. no need to convert to some lame ass .mp4 format to play on your psp or ipod

Since the xbox now natively supports divx/xvid since fall 2007, there is no need for a super powerful pc to transcode on the fly anymore, as was the case 2 years ago. All you need is any old PC, Tversity, media in your Tversity Library and a network. TVersity acts as a media server much like Media Center does, except its better, haha.
