Good job they weren't fighting against Afghans if they were "fighting like Russians"!!!

Anyway, they haven't "won" anything yet, America has said they will never recognise so they will never get international acceptance so technically they are still part of Georgia

Of course, this is all very hypocritical of America and the West, especially after Kosovo and Iraq. Russia does pretty much exactly the same but because Georgia is gonna have what could be the most important oil pipeline in the world running through it, America has to treat them like the sun shines out their arse, which means agreeing with them that Georgian regions should not be broken up against the wishes of the government. But let's face it, just look at the man...

Can anyone honestly look at this man and say they don't think he's been committing human rights abuses!?

Georgia Planned to Capture Abkhazia in 2 Days
Georgia planned to capture Abkhazia during two days, by forces of three brigades of 9,000 troopers, the RF General Staff Deputy Chief, General-Colonel Anatoly Nogovitsyn announced August 27, during a news conference in RIA Novosti.
“In duration, the general plan for the operation was for two days, with the capture of Sukhumi and the entry into another line. The strength of forces in Abkhazia’s direction was three brigades, up to 9,000 servicemen overall,” Nogovitsyn said.

Georgia planned to attack Abkhazia in three directions – the Kodori Gorge, the eastern direction, the southern direction and the coastline, the south-west direction, the general specified.

With Sukhumi captured, Georgia was going to amass more troops and reach the state border with Russia to complete occupation of the region.

Nogovitsyn showed to journalists the captured e-map of the regional group of forces that operated in Abkhazia’s direction and unveiled the name of the planned operation; it was called “The Rock.”

Here is all the evidence of who's started this conflict.

But, I can't stand the double-stance of the West, who has directly supported Georgia and its invasion to S.Ossetia and Abkhazia. The US was fucking training their army and supplying with a military equipment and pooring in cash into them.

WTF!? Can anyone answer this simple question? WTF!?

Erm don't you know anything about the history of American interventionalism?! I said earlier they're being very hypocritical however, looking back through history, I'd say they are most certainly being consistent as well!

I've thought about this a lot. And lets just say that if the Russians were really peace keepers why didn't they stop the rebels who attacked the Georgians?

Also it isn't as clear cut as saying yeah but in these regions they want to be Russian. Because there has (I'm lead to believe) been pressure on ethnic Georgians to leave these regions.

I totally agree with you that the west is really into a double stance here, however Russia has been equally as double edged in this conflict. Russia's foreign policy is officially not to meddle in other countries internal affairs, and it has been rather consistent with not doing so in for example the security council (together with China on issues such as Sudan, Zimbabwe and Iran). It's is obviously meddling in Georgia's internal affairs right now. I find this Russian double standard even worse than that of the western countries.

I think both sides need to get thier act together.

What I really don't like is that the western media has been reporting in a biased way. I find an unnatural slant reading both the Economist and the Financial Times which are usually fairly free of political leanings.
